Content Writing and Passive income streams – My Bukisa Review

After having a great deal of success using eHow last year I set out this year to try more of these passive income streams / content writing sites online to see if I could duplicate the eHow experience. The first site that I tried was Bukisa and started to load up the site in January and February of this year. Over that time I posted fifty articles where I would research some keywords using Google’s Adwords Keyword tool and find some pretty good paying words with reasonable competition.

I wrote anywhere from three hundred to four hundred words for each article and posted them over the two months. Now I understand that it takes a little while for posts to be indexed with Google (or other search engines) and the more backlinks I can get for articles the better off they are however even now four months after I posted my last article none of the articles are really seeing that much traffic coming. In the month of May I earned .37 cents total for all fifty articles. Needless to say this was a disappointment for me. I am starting this month to try out both InfoBarrel and Triond to see how they stack up against the options out there and will update with my progress over the next few weeks and months to see if they get any better traffic or more importantly if they bring in more money than Bukisa.

At this point I was discouraged enough with Bukisa to cut my losses and not post any more work there. I have fifty there and while that is not a ton, it should be enough to indicate weather the site justifies more content or when to walk away and try elsewhere. For me, I am cutting my losses and will just let the pennies I earn at Bukisa add up all year so that maybe, just maybe after a year I can hit their minimum ten dollar payout.
